Porsche 911 Carrera RSR (1974) by Historika – Monza Historic 2020 + OnBoard, 3-Litre Flat-Six Sound!
This great and original 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR, chassis 0060015, took to the track in the 2020 edition of the Monza Historic by Peter Auto. Prepared by Historika Klassik Porsche, competes with Andrew Smith & Richard Hywel Evans in the Classic Endurance Racing category. We have to thank the team’s kindness for providing us with the onboards to be used together with our external video footage. This Porsche 911 Carrera RSR is one of 52 units built-in 1974-1975 and was initially sold to Louis Meznarie, one of the most important specialists of this brand in France. It was made to race in 1975-1976 and 1978 at the Tour de France and in 1976 at the Giro d’Italia. The current owners bought it in 2014, restoring and bringing it back to the original 1975 livery; luckily for us, it has returned in the races dedicated to historical cars. The 3.0-Liter naturally-aspirated Flat-Six engine develops a power of 330hp at 8.000 rpm with a maximum torque of 314Nm at 6.500 rpm. To move it, the Type 915 gearbox takes care of it, a 5-speed manual, while the braking system consists of 4 self-ventilated discs. With steel and fibreglass bodywork, the weight is low, only 900Kg and the car has excellent performance.
