Porsche 718 Boxster Style Edition – Ultimate Guide
Underlining Porsche’s commitment to ever more creative and vibrant bespoke finishes, the new models are characterized by special colors and matching contrasting elements. With the Style Edition, Porsche adds model variants for those who seek to stand out. This is particularly evident with the new color Ruby Star Neo, which is a modern interpretation of the Ruby Star color used on the 964 Carrera RS.
Exclusive details, enhanced standard equipment
Regardless of the exterior color, the new Style Edition variants are immediately recognizable. They are fitted as standard equipment with 20-inch 718 Spyder wheels in high-gloss black that carry colored Porsche crests. Furthermore, the Style Edition stands out thanks to Sport Tailpipes in Black and PORSCHE script on the rear in high-gloss silver. The 718 Boxster Style Edition also features “Boxster” model designations embossed into the convertible top above the side windows.
The 718 Boxster and Cayman models are already well equipped with standard features including Bi-Xenon Headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) with integrated 4-point LED daytime running lights, Sport Exhaust, ParkAssist front and rear incl. Rear-view camera, Apple® CarPlay, cruise control, automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors with Integrated Rain Sensor, heated front seats and two-zone automatic climate control. The new Style Edition models also gain a heated, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, floor mats with contrasting stitching in Chalk, a black leather interior with contrasting stitching in Chalk, headrests embossed with the Porsche crest and illuminated stainless steel door sill guards as standard equipment.
Two optional 718 Style Edition contrast packages are also available to customers: one in black, and one in white. Both include decorative stripes on the hood and “PORSCHE” logos on the side, while the wheels and rear model designation are painted in black or high-gloss white.
Six-speed manual as standard
Both Style Edition models are based on the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine developing 300 hp. The four-cylinder engine generates 280 lb.-ft. of torque and propels the car from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. When equipped with the optional seven-speed PDK and Sport Chrono Package, this time drops to 4.5 seconds. Independent of transmission choice, the top track speed of the 718 Style Edition models is 170 mph.
Who doesn’t like it when basic is done well? Porsche, perhaps keen to remind people that they do, in fact, build entry-level versions of their cars, will introduce two Style Editions for the 2024 model year that are based on the lowliest 718 Boxster and Cayman sports cars. Of course, lowly is relative—these lightweight, rear-drive, mid-engined 718s have 300-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter flat-fours onboard, and will come standard (yes, even in Style Edition form) with six-speed manual transmissions.
Wish you could be stylish and have the 718 S models’ 350-hp 2.5-liter flat four? Or maybe the 718 GTS’ wonderful flat-six engines? Buy one of those, and customize it using Porsche’s extremely deep roster of upgrades and personalization options. The Style Editions come only with the entry-level 2.0-liter, full stop.
The Style Editions get gloss-black 20-inch wheels, Porsche and model script, and tailpipe accents; the Boxster model’s convertible top also inherits embossed “Boxster” script on the top, which is visible when the top is lowered. Porsche also will offer the special-edition 718s with either white or black contrast stripe packages (check out the white option on the Ruby-colored Boxster above), which also net corresponding-color wheels (so, go with the white, and you’ll get sweet white rims).
Everything else in the Style Edition marks an upgrade over regular 718s, too, with plenty of otherwise optional content standard, including black leather upholstery with chalk-colored contrast stitching, a heated steering wheel, illuminated stainless steel door kick plates, and the Porsche crest embossed on the seat headrests.
That stuff comes on top of the regular 718’s already standard adaptive bi-xenon headlights, sport exhaust, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and front and rear parking sensors. See? Porsche doesn’t really build “basic” cars, but the Style Editions—like the more performance-oriented, but also relatively affordable, base-engine 718 Boxster and Cayman T models—show it can stuff all of its lineup with goodness, not just the headline-grabbers like the Cayman GT4 RS or 911 GT3. The Style Edition 718s will go on sale next year in Europe before making their way stateside as 2024 models, so if this specific style is your bag, prepare to wait awhile.

The new Porsche 718 Style Edition Models
Fresh colours and harmonious contrast packages characterise the new Porsche 718 Boxster Style Edition and 718 Cayman Style Edition sports cars.
Both mid-engine models have always stood for the perfect combination of driving pleasure and everyday practicality. With the Style Edition, Porsche is now presenting an exclusive variant for customers who attach particular importance to a striking design for their vehicle. This is particularly evident in the selection of the exterior colour Ruby Star Neo, which provides a modern interpretation of the Ruby Star of the legendary Porsche 911 Carrera RS of the 964 generation.
Exclusive details set the models apart
Even if Porsche customers have their Style Edition models painted in a colour other than Ruby Star Neo, the new variants are clearly distinguishable. For example, they drive on 20-inch 718 Spyder wheels in high-gloss black, and their wheel hub covers feature coloured Porsche Crests. The Style Edition is also recognisable by its black sport tailpipes and “Porsche” lettering in high-gloss silver in the back. On the 718 Boxster Style Edition, “Boxster” lettering embossed above the side windows is added to the soft top as an exclusive label. Customers can choose between two 718 Style Edition contrast packages at no extra charge: one in black, the other in white. Both include decorative stripes on the luggage compartment lid at the front and “Porsche” decorative lettering on the side, as well as black and white high-gloss paint finishes for the wheels and model designations at the rear, respectively. Inside, the Style Edition models feature a leather package in black including contrast stitching in chalk, illuminated door sill panels in stainless steel and the Porsche Crest on the headrests.
Extended standard equipment adds to the appeal
718 Boxster and Cayman Style Edition are exceptionally well equipped: BiXenon main headlights with LED daytime running lights, ParkAssist front and rear including rearview camera, Apple® CarPlay, cruise control, automatically dimming exterior and interior mirrors including rain sensor, heated smooth leather multifunction steering wheel, heated seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, floor mats with contrast stitching in crayon and leather package in black with contrast stitching in crayon are all on board as standard. Both models can also be further upgraded with a wide range of options.
Six-speed manual transmission comes standard
In terms of powertrain and chassis, the Style Edition models do not differ from one another. Both are based on the entry-level versions of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman with the 220 kW (300 PS; 718 Style Edition Models: Fuel consumption* combined (WLTP) 8.8 – 8.1 l/100 km, CO emissions* combined (WLTP) 200 – 185 g/km, Fuel consumption* combined (NEDC) 9.7 – 8.9 l/100 km, CO emissions* combined (NEDC) 220 – 202 g/km) two-litre boxer engine behind the seats. The turbocharged four-cylinder generates 380 Newton meters of torque and takes the Style Edition models, which are manually shifted through six gears as standard, from zero to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds (with optional seven-speed PDK: 4.7 seconds). Regardless of the selected transmission, both reach a top speed of 275 km/h.
