Porsche introduced the 991 GT3 for the 2014 model year, as follow up to the multiple 997 GT3 variants. The 991 GT3 featured a new 3.8 litre direct fuel injection (DFI) flat-six engine developing 475 hp (354 kW; 482 PS) at 8,250 rpm, Porsche’s Doppelkupplung (PDK) double-clutch gearbox, and rear-wheel steering. The 911 GT3 is claimed to be able to accelerate from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.1 seconds or less, and the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds at 126 mph (203 km/h).
Also, the the 991 GT3 featured revised front and rear bumper covers when compared to the standard Carrera as well as a rear wing and dual center-exit exhaust pipes. Porsche promised that with the all-new engine, transmission and chassis, this model extends the breadth of the GT3’s abilities, allowing for more sophisticated day-to-day use, while retaining the driver engagement and track-bred handling it’s famous for.

Under the rear bonnet lies a potent 3.8-liter flat-six engine, factory rated at 475 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque. This model also comes equipped with an extended range 23.9-gallon fuel tank option. The power from the engine is seamlessly transferred to the rear wheels via a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transaxle, featuring Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) Plus for enhanced performance and handling capabilities.
