As part of the company’s 70th-anniversary celebrations, Porsche unveiled the 991 Speedster at the New York Auto Show in April 2019, with deliveries started in May of the same year. This Speedster holds historical significance as the final model of the 991 family and, in tribute to the year of Porsche’s establishment, only 1,948 units were produced, all of which were sold effortlessly.
The Porsche 911 Speedster is the beneficiary of Stuttgart’s latest fixings, while also serving as a throwback to the Porsche 356 – the very first Speedster model. This schematic has forged a 911 with a silhouette based on the 4S Cabriolet body, carbon fiber bits borrowed off the 911 R, and front and rear bumpers from the GT3 Touring.
This specific model, labeled as #821 out of the 1,948 produced for the year, is remarkably well-preserved with only 71 miles on the odometer, as indicated in its listing on Bring A Trailer. It comes equipped with the Heritage Design package, featuring Silver Metallic paintwork, a white nose with customizable racing numbers (49 in this case), and Porsche script alongside the lower sills, reflecting Porsche’s racing heritage.
The interior of Heritage Design cars, including this one, boasts unique two-tone Cognac leather seats with Black leather trimming on the steering wheel, dashboard, and center console. Additional features include Chrono packages, 20″ GT3 center-lock alloy wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, a black soft top, a carbon-fiber twin-hump convertible-top cover panel, Porsche Communication Management with navigation, a front-axle lift, carbon-fiber full bucket seats, and a speed-activated rear spoiler.
Powering the 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster is a naturally aspirated, GT3-sourced 4.0L flat-six engine with VarioCam Plus valve timing. Specifically updated for the Speedster, it includes revised individual throttle bodies and high-pressure fuel injectors, producing 502 horsepower and 346 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential transmit power to the rear wheels.
With its low mileage, this example would make an excellent addition to any collection or provide a rare opportunity for Porsche enthusiasts who missed their chance to acquire one when new.
