The 964 generation has become highly popular, primarily due to its iconic styling and air-cooled design. Among the 964 models, the 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo S 3.6, recently listed for sale on Bring a Trailer, stands out as one of the rarer and more special examples. It is one of only 17 “Package” models built with standard Turbo bodywork.
Created as an exclusive swan-song for the 964-based Turbo 3.6, Porsche produced just 93 Turbo S models, with 76 of them featuring the Flatnose configuration. The remaining 17 cars, including this one, were constructed with the Flatnose Delete Package. In 1994, the standard Porsche Turbo 3.6 was the fastest production car in the United States. The Turbo S option-code 36S further enhanced this powerful sports car. Notably, Turbo S cars were equipped with the M64/50S high-performance engine, derived from the 1993 IMSA 3.6 engine built by ANDIAL for Brumos Racing.
Boasting a factory-rated 380 horsepower, achieved through various engine modifications, the Turbo S offered exceptional acceleration, reaching 0-60 MPH in under 4 seconds and completing the quarter-mile in just 12 seconds. The “Package” cars featured additional elements, such as Porsche Exclusive optional spoilers, rear fender vents, and polished 18-inch three-piece Speedline alloy wheels. This package came at an additional cost of $20,921 on top of the base price of $99,000 for the Turbo.
This example was delivered new to Park Place Porsche of Dallas, Texas, before it was later transferred to Don McGill Imports Inc. in Houston, where the original owner made the purchase. In 1998, the second owner acquired the vehicle in Atlanta, Georgia, after which it journeyed through Pennsylvania and Illinois before finding its current owner in 2022.
Boasting a white finish paired with Classic Grey full leather upholstery, this 964 Turbo S is now offered for sale with 14k miles on the clock. Noteworthy factory options include X99 asymmetrical side air intakes, the X92 Turbo S front lip spoiler, and the X93 Turbo S rear spoiler. Further enhancing its features are 18-inch Speedline multi-piece Cup wheels, a power-operated sunroof, air conditioning, power windows, a Porsche CR-1 cassette player, and a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer.
