Presented at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, the 997 GT3 is like those before it. A more track biased version of the 911. It is the first GT3 to feature active chassis components. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) offers two different modes; normal and sport. A 6 speed manual transmission transfers power from the 415 bhp flat six mounted in the rear to the rear wheels. The latest race-bred 911 sports coupe features a 415-horsepower naturally aspirated engine with an 8,400 rpm redline, an active suspension setup tuned for the track, and a mechanical limited-slip differential.
Offered on Bring A Trailer today is a 2008 Porsche 911 GT3 equipped with a 3.6-liter flat-six mated to a six-speed manual transaxle. It has a Guards Red exterior over Dark Gray interior and comes with factory specifications that includes Sport Chrono Package, 19″ silver-finished alloy wheels, a limited-slip differential, bi-xenon headlights, a sunroof, a fixed rear wing, body-color interior trim, Guards Red seatbelts, the Sound Package Plus, and automatic climate control.
This Porsche 911 (997) GT3 is a stunning Guards Red example that has been lauded for being a superb track-focused sports car. It is currently offered in pristine condition on Bring A Trailer and boasting 22k miles since new. Presented in impressive cosmetic order both in and out, this GT3 would certainly make for a fearsome track day toy and as an ideal addition to any modern sports car collection.
