The Iron Dames Porsche 911 RSR-19 With A Solid 2023 Le Mans Result

The only all female GTE-AM driver lineup of the recent 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans had their best ever class finish

Tom Kristensen prepares to drive the bespoke 24 Hours of Le Mans Centenary Trophy to the start line. His transport for this important task was the Chenard & Walcker Torpedo 3L Sport Type U3, identical to the car that won the first race back in 1923 (the original one was destroyed), and is the only car of its type in France. The bodywork was remade using photos and documents from the Le Mans Museum Archive, the restoration taking two years to complete

In the 2023 Le Mans 24 Hour race, the Iron Dames team of Sarah Bovy, Rahel Frey and Michelle Gatting driving the No. 85 Porsche 911 RSR, was the only all-female squad in the centennial race. This was the third time that this particular threesome had driven together at Le Mans, on the previous two occasions they had been behind the wheel of a Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, but this year they would be in a Porsche 911 RSR-19.
