Porsche’s 911 GT3 of the 991.2 generation incorporated several improvements over its predecessor. Responding to the demands of its loyal customers, Porsche not only offered the PDK transmission but also introduced a manual gearbox at no additional cost.
The new 4.0-liter engine was derived from GT3 Cup cars, boasting a power output of 500 bhp – matching the 991.1 GT3 RS – due to a newly designed crankshaft and valve gear. Opting for a Porsche 911 GT3 type 991.2 with 6-speed manual gearbox decreases its acceleration reaching 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds but manages to increase its top speed to 320km/h.
With slightly revised aerodynamics, including a brand-new diffuser, the downforce produced is equal to that of the 997-generation GT3 RS. The vehicle’s track-day credentials are enhanced with standard equipment such as active engine mounts, rear axle, steering, and a limited-slip differential.
