A Beautiful Piece of Porsche History
The 1960 Porsche 356B Roadster is an automotive icon. The vehicle is one of those highly sought after cars by collectors. That makes this particular one that’s for sale on Bring A Trailer special. The car has low miles (about 6,000) and looks absolutely beautiful.
Completed on October 5, 1959, as a 1960 model year car, it was sold new to a buyer in Las Vegas, Nevada. The car was originally Ruby Red over a brown leatherette interior. In the mid-2000s it was refinished black with a tan convertible top over a tan leather interior.
Powering the car is a replacement flat-four bored out to 1,750cc and paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car features four-corner disc brakes, a tan top boot, a rear luggage rack, 15-inch ventilated chrome wheels, reclining bucket seats, and a Moto-Lita steering wheel.
The car is offered at a dealership in California with its removed, but still numbers-matching 1.6-liter engine. There’s also a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a copy of the Kardex, a driver’s manual, a factory specifications book, the original steering wheel, a tool kit, jack, and a clean Nevada title.
As you can see from the images here, the car is gorgeous. At the time of this writing, the bid is up to $45,000 and there are seven days left of bidding to be had.
