Porsche is introducing two new models of their all-electric four-door sports car lineup, the Taycan Turbo GT and the Turbo GT with Weissach Package. These models are designed for the track, featuring a lighter chassis, enhanced electric motor, and improved aerodynamics, these performance variants elevate the Taycan’s capabilities.
Top Gear magazine got an exclusive first look at the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package as it sets a new lap time record at the famous Laguna Seca raceway with a time of 1:27.87 minutes, making it the fastest car around the circuit.
This is also the same model that lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:07.55 minutes, beating the previous record for a Porsche electric vehicle, held by the Taycan Turbo S in 2022, by a remarkable 26 seconds.
The Taycan Turbo GT is the fastest accelerating and most powerful Porsche ever made. The new Taycan comes with a dual-motor powertrain that produces up to 1,092 hp, allowing the electric car to go 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds and 2.2 seconds when optioned with the Weissach Package.
