Don’t miss your chance to own a low mileage and almost-new example of a 2016 Porsche 911 (991.1) GT3 RS currently offered on Collecting Cars!
The 991.1 Porsche 911 GT3 RS once again blurs the boundary between road-going sports cars and race cars. It is equipped with the maximum degree of motorsport technology currently possible in a street-legal 911, yet retains supreme suitability for everyday driving.
Extensive modifications to the drive system, aerodynamics and lightweight design enhance performance beyond that of even the 911 GT3. Indeed, the RS has set a lap time around the 14 mile Nürburgring Nordschleife of 7 min 20 secs; an achievement which also trumps the historic record value of the Carrera GT super sports car of just under 7 min and 29 secs. As a consequence, this clearly qualifies the 911 GT3 RS as the benchmark in its class – directly at its launch.
The bodywork of this GT3 RS is finished in eye-catching Lava Orange, complemented by a black cabin with Alcantara and leather trim. It features carbon inlays, GT3 RS branding, orange stitching, Schroth Racing six-point race harness, a half roll cage, and pull-strap doors.
It comes with Porsche adaptive headlights with black contrast, a fire extinguisher, racing harnesses with colour-coded matching seatbelts, and the Porsche nose lift system. Additionally, it has launch control, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, selectable drive modes, cruise control, climate control, and the PCM system.
The car sits on grey 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels with ‘RS’ centre-lock hubs and Dunlop SportMaxx Race rubber with plenty of remaining tread. It’s also equipped with a carbon-fibre bonnet, engine lid, and front guards, and a lightweight magnesium roof. The rear has an adjustable carbon-fibre wing, and the GT3 RS features rear-wheel steering, stiffer, adjustable front suspension, adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars, and electronic adaptive dampers.
Powering the car is a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine capable of producing up to 368kW / 495bhp, which drives the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK automatic transmission. With launch control, this car can reach 100 kilometres an hour in just three seconds, and its redline is at 8,800rpm.
Porsche’s 991.1 GT3 RS has received universal praise for its impressive performance and visceral driving experience. It’s an incredibly capable driver’s car that’s also comfortable enough for everyday road use. This particular example has only 4,580 kilometres on the clock and has recently undergone a major service. Whether you want an exhilarating track toy or a thrilling ride for weekend drives or longer road trips, this GT3 RS is an excellent choice.
