J.D. Power recently released the 2022 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) which showed the Porsche 911 as the highest-ranked model for trouble-free ownership. The iconic model has been given this distinguished honor for the second year in a row, and for the past four years, this is also the third time that the Porsche 911 was given this prestigious designation.
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. President and CEO Kjell Gruner shared, “It is gratifying to see the work of so many colleagues, both here in the U.S. and in Germany, being rewarded as we all relentlessly focus on meeting and hopefully exceeding the expectations of our customers. This year’s top rankings for the Porsche 911 and the Cayenne exemplify our commitment to designing and delivering exciting vehicles that their owners can depend on, drive after drive.”
Currently in its 33rd year, the Vehicle Dependability Study measures the number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) that the original owners of three-year old vehicles experienced in the last 12 months. A lower score would mean higher dependability. The study conducted for this year were based on the 2019 model-year vehicles.
The 2019 Porsche 911 got the fewest problems amongst all the models in the automotive sector with a 94 PP100 rating. Overall, Porsche was able to rank third amongst premium brands.
