2012 Gemballa GT Coupé
The legendary Porsche 911 spirit is alive and well in the new 991 Carrera. Even out of the box, the Carrera S PDK has such outstanding performance and driving dynamics, it is almost a match for the outgoing GT3. It certainly is the new class benchmark.
As GEMBALLA CEO, Andreas Schwarz, explains: “Creating an even more individual appearance for this iconic sports car is a natural step for GEMBALLA, and we are proud to present our GT package for the new Carrera.”
“Made in Germany” from light and strong carbon-fibre, the GEMBALLA body kit has been designed along modular lines so that more components can be added as they become available. For now, the GT package debuts with new front and rear bumpers and side skirts.
Designed to fit precisely to the car using the factory mounting points, these GEMBALLA components are a straight swap for the original parts, and the conversion is completely reversible should you ever wish to return the car to standard.
Another visual highlight is the 21-inch ultra-light forged alloy wheels, which weigh a tad less than the 19-inch wheels fitted to the basic Carrera, let alone the 20-inch wheels on the Carrera S.
“Lowering the unsprung weight despite going up a wheel size was a priority,” explained Andreas Schwarz, who pushed his wheel supplier to innovate in both design and construction.
Last but not least, the GEMBALLA exhaust with its distinctive six outlet pipes, helps the 340hp 3.4, and 400hp 3.8 litre flat-six engines breathe more easily and speak with a deeper and more distinctive voice.
GEMBALLA, the renowned Leonberg-based Porsche tuner has worked on the 911 for more than half of the cars life. Their GT package is the beginning of a new chapter, which will eventually include an all-new AVALANCHE. This is GEMBALLA at its very best.
